Fractional ownership was first introduced to the aviation community in the mid 80s. The concept of fractional ownership was first introduced by Richard Santulli, the founder of Net Jets. The fractional method of using aircraft is felt to be the best route to go for many companies interested in air travel, for several notable reasons. An interested company does not have to pay full purchase price, as with personal ownership. Also, fractional ownership gives a company the first hand experience to decide whether or not they really want to buy their own aircraft, without requiring full commitment. Furthermore, with Helicopter Services' fractional ownership program, the corporation has no need for its own flight operations department, as HSI provides everything connected with ownership, including maintenance, pilot employment and training, and storage.

Why should our company consider fractional ownership of a helicopter when we have our own business jet(s)?
Fractional ownership is a means by which you can supplement your flight department without having to pay full price for the additional aircraft. The fractional plan allows a business or an individual to enjoy the benefits that a helicopter can offer without spending a large amount of capital.
Why should we use a helicopter, which cannot travel as fast as the company jet?
While a jet will go faster than a helicopter from airport to airport, a helicopter can skip having the commute to the airport on each end of the trip. With an airplane, a person must take the time to drive from the office to the airport (points A-B), which includes the delays for the unexpected traffic accidents and road construction. Once at the airport the flight begins from one airport to another airport (points B-C). After landing, one still has to deal with traffic, enjoying road rage, high blood pressure and all the wonderful things that happen while driving to the work place (points C-D). With a helicopter, you will skip segments A-B and C-D, going straight from points A to D in less time, at saved money, under less stress and still have you home in time for supper with the family. Simply put, the helicopter is a door-step to door-step, not an airport to airport, operation.

What is the effective area that a helicopter can cover?
The helicopter can effectively cover distances of up to 300 miles and still be very effective and efficient. At the distance of 400+ miles, then an airplane is more effective.

What additional costs will our company have to pay?
With fractional, you will have an initial entry cost, which will vary for the aircraft used and the number of shares that you purchase. There is a monthly management fee that is paid plus the direct operating cost. No hidden cost, just simplicity. Click here to receive more information about the costs of fractional ownership.
How many times or how many hours can we use the aircraft?
There are no set times that you have to use the aircraft, nor is there a restriction on using the aircraft frequently. Number of hours depends on the number of shares you have purchased (1/2, 1/4, 1/8 ect.).
How often can we use the helicopter?
The aircraft is yours so use it as often as you like; holidays, weekends, spur of the moment flights, planed flights, even emergency runs, cargo or people. Helicopter Services is here to serve you; just give us a call.
How much time in advance do we have to call in order to use the helicopter?
The helicopter belongs to you so all you do is give us a call, we are here for you 24 hours a day and 365+ days a year. It is preferred that you call in advance, but we will get you there no matter when you call. What ever it takes, you will get where you need to be, when you need to be there.
What if one of the other owners is using the aircraft? How will Helicopter Services get me where I need to be?
If by chance you need to use the helicopter and one of the other owners is using the aircraft, then you will simply fly in our helicopter, which is comparably the same aircraft. Here is another scenario, lets say that two owners are using both of the aircraft, yours and ours. Helicopter Services will charter another helicopter, of comparable size for your use at no additional charge to you. Helicopter Services will get you where you need to be, when you need to be there.
After our contract is up how will we terminate the deal, assuming we do not like fractional?
If after the contract is up, you do not like the fractional way, then your share will be bought at fair market value, and you can simply walk away.
What type of tax brakes will we get for purchasing fractional aircraft?
Fractional ownership is considered similar to direct ownership. We suggest that you consult your accountant about tax considerations affecting your situation.
How safe are helicopters?
Although often looked at like a UFO, helicopters have actually been in use for more than 50 years. According to the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), there are more than 6,000 helicopters being used by businesses in the USA alone. Helicopters hold a high level of safety, efficiency, and dependability. One serious misconception is that if the engine stops, the blades stop too. This is, of course, not true: the pilot will simply enter autorotation and come to a safe landing at a desired site. Turbine and piston engine helicopters are extremely safe, even compared with airplanes.
Which make(s) and model(s) will Helicopter Services be offering?
Helicopter Services plans to offer whatever type helicopter you as our customer so chooses, from the piston powered Robinson R-44 to the turbine powered BA 609 tiltrotor. Helicopter Services aims to please, so if you prefer Agusta, Bell, Eurocopter, MD, or Sikorsky, we will gladly oblige.
What type of pilots will Helicopter Services have?
Helicopter Services offers only the best staff, because we know we carry precious cargo and we want you to be safe in your aircraft. We hire only safe and courteous pilots that are FAA Part 135 certified and supply them with training from the aircraft manufacturer.
Will the pilots have duty time guidelines to follow?
As you may know, fractional flying falls under FAA Part 91 flight rules. However, Helicopter Services follows FAA Part 135 flight rules, a more strict set of guidelines, to keep our pilots more alert, thus keeping you safer.
To what standard will the aircraft be maintained?
The helicopters will meet or exceed the stringent Part 135 guidelines and be maintained by an FAA Part 135 maintenance crew. Additionally, all service bulletins and advisory circulars (legally non-mandatory) by the manufacturer and the FAA will be complied with.
